About Laura

Howdy!

I’m an oldest child (mostly flaws) who is loved by a wonderful God, and a wonderful family. I’m a perfectionist, a control freak, and not the best morning person, and somehow the above mentioned still claim me as their own.

I love travel, photography, vintage furniture, classical literature, coffee, riding my horse, and trying my best to serve God wholeheartedly.

I was raised in a big city, and I now live in a small industrious town on a farm that a menagerie of animals call “home”. It’s been a big adjustment moving to the farm and learning how to perform all of the tasks that go along with keeping one up (well, still learning), but it’s been a journey that I wouldn’t change for anything….even a good Thai restaurant….on most days.

On a good day you will find me in the kitchen whipping up a new dessert recipe or trying my hand at one of Julia Child’s famous French entrée’s. And on a bad day, well…..you’ll probably find me doing the same thing.

So, join me on this journey of Cow Patties, Carharts, and Crème brûlée, and if you feel the need (I always love em’), comment! Tell me what you think! I love to hear from my readers, as scarce as they may be :)

Until Next Time,

Laura Lee

    Laura,
Love your blog and your tag line, “A Creme Brulee girl, living in a Carhart world”. The teacher in me feels the need to point out that Carhartt is spelled with two “t’s” and menagerie is men, not man. Like you, I love a good Thai restaurant and from my need to correct misspelled words, you can also tell that I have the “control freak” gene also.

Haha, thank you! I actually am aware that Carhartt is spelled with two “ts”, but due to copyright reasons I left one out (; I’m surprised that you are the first person who has actually noticed that. A little while ago I contemplated writing a post called, “The Story of the Missing T”, but since no one seemed to notice, I didn’t bother :)

      Thanks for the help!

Aha, NOW I know what Carhartts are! Work clothing brand. I’m guessing it’s like saying ‘Barbour’ in this country: it spells ‘countryside living’.

How cool moving to a farm. I imagine I’d love it when I think of being surrounded by animals, rustling up an apple pie in a cosy farmhouse kitchen with freshly picked wild flowers on the windowsill. Of course I block out unpleasantries such as the early mornings and unpleasant things involved like shovelling poo in my daydream!

    Dear Laura
First, forgive my bad English, I’m Italian, but it would be more correct to say “neapolitan” …(we’re too different by the Italians because our culture and our traditions are too different) … … … … surfing, I came across your blog. So far nothing strange … … … the important thing is that I share many of your passions, but especially your ground, Scotland has always been part of my imagination … … I confess that I don’t like England … ….. but I love Scotland and Ireland … … their traditions …. … … their landscapes …. … … their history … … … … and simplicity which characterizes these places … … … … I’m grateful to you for the photos you’ve posted … ….very beautiful! … … … … I take this opportunity to say good-bye and tell you all my sympathy …. … the way how you posters and write.

Hi Laura! Just stumbled upon your blog — I LOVE the name! It just makes me smile, as I feel I’ve been on a similar kind of journey (albeit it back to my home!). About seven years ago, I traded my high heels and business suits in for steel toed boots and Carhartts. I never would have guessed that I would become a sort of Carhartt addict! Such is life! I love your photos and words, and look forward to following your blog!
